The Swap Caravan is a warmly illustrated swapping and caravan game for children aged 6-12. The otter Hazel and his caravan friends set off to build a flying ship. But not with money: everything is done through barter! Along the way, you'll encounter merchants. Each merchant has goods they like and dislike. If you place the right item in the right spot, its value increases, and the merchant gives you the ship part. HOW TO PLAY? • The merchant gives you an item or ship part and asks for a price. • You choose items from the camel's back and place them on the stall. • Items the merchant likes increase in value two, three, or four times. • If you hit the target perfectly, it's a "hit": no waste, the merchant likes you. • When you collect four pieces, your caravan rises into the sky. CONTENTS OF THE GAME • Eleven merchants, each with their own personality: The Kind Giraffe, The Stingy Octopus, The Fair Crane… • Production workshop: make jam from strawberries and honey over a fire, cheese from milk, scarves from wool, ice cream from salep. • Mountain or coast? You'll find different goods at every crossroads. • Market events: snow makes fabric more valuable, abundant harvest makes food cheaper. • Goods lose their freshness: fresh milk is valuable, not stale milk. • Travel journal: collect the merchants you meet and the recipes you discover. • Voiced dialogue and your own music. TEACHES BUT NOT LIKE A LESSON The game doesn't show any calculations on the screen. The child discovers multiplication by playing "the item he likes doubles", and division by playing "equal shares for three offspring". There is no true-false screen: the merchant only grumbles at a failed offer.
