Suncairn Way

Sunlight is your throttle. Shade is your brake. You dispatch a stone-and-bronze railway across the desert, hauling cut stone, grain and water to raise a colossal solar monument. Carts run on sun-draft: in sunlight a cart accelerates and heats up, in shadow it coasts and cools. The sun arcs overhead through every shift, so shadows from dunes and cliffs sweep across your line all day long. Let a cart run hot and its bearings seize. Let grain sit through the noon blaze and it spoils. Raise a mirror-cairn to light a cold cut, or strike a shade-sail to cool a run. Hold a cart at a siding and you are not wasting time — you are cooling it, or letting another pass.
