A night-time home run contest under the floodlights. The pitcher throws, you tap to swing, and a scoreboard of amber lights tracks how far the ball travels. 1st inning When you tap sets the timing: early pulls the ball to left field or foul, late sends it right. Where you tap sets the height of the swing, so going under the ball lifts it and going over it chops a grounder. The fence stands 99 m down the lines, 114 m in the gaps and 122 m to centre. 2nd inning Derby mode gives you ten outs. Any swing that is not a home run costs one, and a round never runs past 30 pitches. Fastballs, curveballs, sliders and change-ups each have their own speed and break, and a side camera follows every long drive over the field. 3rd inning The Challenge Ladder climbs 24 rungs across four tiers, Sandlot, Minors, Triple Deck and The Show. Targets include home runs against a set pitch, one deep drive, a streak in a row or shots to dead centre, each graded with up to three stars. 4th inning The Rack holds eight pieces of lumber, from ash and birch to bamboo, ironbark and charred maple, each with its own Power, Barrel and Timing. They open with stars, home run totals and distance. Records shows your longest hit, career totals, perfect swings and home runs by pitch type, with a table of the last 30 games. Seventh-inning stretch Between rounds, fifteen awards wait to light up, and a ten-question baseball trivia round drawn from 28 facts ends after three wrong answers. Searchlight beams sway slowly behind the menus while moths and camera flashes drift in the stands; this animated background can be switched off in Settings, next to haptics and a metres or feet option. The game plays offline and needs no account.
