SceneStar is the companion app for the physical SceneStar movie party game. Draw a face-down card, scan its QR code and watch a short scene from an official movie trailer. Identify the movie and find its place on your timeline. Physical SceneStar game cards and a smartphone with an internet connection are required. HOW A ROUND WORKS • The host opens a card by scanning its QR code with the camera, scanning a QR code from a photo or entering the card ID manually. • The app switches to landscape. A countdown tells the host when to show the screen to the group. • After the scene, name the movie, place the card on your timeline and reveal the answer. • The answer shows the title, release year, director, lead actors or voice actors, and genre. • Need help? Spend one joker token to watch a second, easier scene from the same movie. • Discovered a movie you want to watch? Tap the heart to save it to your personal watchlist. TWO DIFFICULTY MODES Normal: an 8-second scene. Expert: a 4-second scene for particularly observant movie fans. THE GAME STAYS ON THE TABLE Points, timelines and joker tokens are managed with the physical game materials. The app handles scene selection, playback and answers. The rules are available directly in the app. GOOD TO KNOW • No account required. No in-app purchases. • Available in German and English. • An internet connection is required for video playback. • If a video cannot be played, continue with clues instead. • Scenes play through the embedded YouTube player.
