Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Comps (“the service”), operated by Swanum (contact: contact@swanum.com), at swanum.com/comps. By creating an account or calling the API you agree to them.

The service

Comps provides statistics and item-level facts about items sold on third-party resale marketplaces, gathered from publicly accessible pages. It is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by eBay, Vinted or any other marketplace.

Accounts and keys

You're responsible for keeping your API keys secret and for all use made with them. One person or organisation per free account; don't create multiple free accounts to get around quotas.

Acceptable use

• Don't resell raw API output as a competing sold-prices API or dataset.
• Don't use the service to identify, profile or contact marketplace users. We don't provide personal data and you may not try to re-identify it.
• Don't attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or bypass rate limits and quotas.
• Follow applicable law, including the terms of the marketplaces where you act on the data.

Data accuracy

Sold data is derived from what marketplaces display publicly and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong (for example, Vinted doesn't show final negotiated prices, and some sales are indistinguishable from removed listings — we exclude those). The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Don't rely on it as the sole basis for financial, legal or insurance decisions.

Plans, billing and cancellation

During the beta Comps is free. We don't take payments and have no card on file, so nothing can be charged. If paid plans open later we'll email every account before anything changes, and you'd only pay by choosing a plan yourself — the billing terms would be published here first. Quotas are hard limits; there are no overage charges.

Availability

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee it. Marketplaces can block or change their sites at any time; when a source is unavailable the API returns 503 and the request is not counted.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (during the free beta, that is nothing). We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Changes and termination

We may change these terms with at least 14 days' notice by email for material changes. We may suspend accounts that break them. You can delete your account at any time from the dashboard.
