I cancelled my subscription two days ago. I was a customer since October last year. I could get a decent bit of work done on just the 20$ subscription, but since this monday, I can barely get two prompts in before hitting my limit.
Same codebase, same sort of prompt, same scale. I was already on the fence. Models like Qwen, Kimi, or GLM5 already go a very long way while being vastly cheaper, and the new openAI models feels equivalent but with higher limits.
This is getting to the point where

Primarily Mac but also quite a bit on Linux (which, it seems, doesn’t have an app to circumvent this issue - unless i missed that too). I use a locally hosted solution quite a bit, but appreciate the more polished experience of chatGPT (well, except for the browser…….) to supplement. Trying to avoid paying for API access per tokens directly. Something about that doesn’t sit well with me…

@sama @OpenAI @OpenAIDevs There’s been a serious bug for around 4 months: older GPTs can’t save files to knowledge. Support told me to create a new GPT to avoid the issue. But my GPTs has a users, so I can’t replace it. Please check and fix this problem with a higher priority.

🚨 Critical GPT-4o Bug for 2+ Months - OpenAI Still Silent Since August, 4o has been suffering from a catastrophic context collapse issue. What’s more frustrating? OpenAI seems completely unaware this problem even exists. (I put all the detailed information in the screenshot.)⬇️ https://t.co/i54bOC4ISo

This is a highly sensational take that is basically fan fiction. From "the era of purposefully frustrating humans is over", to "the added bonus of the collapse of the US economy. Frankly, it’s well deserved." and "everyone in the world is rooting for the Chinese models"; nothing of that is grounded in reality.
The Chinese models are open source because they are not state of the art. Once they catch-up or lead, they will likely close them down by a government manda
