What a court checks before this one is granted

• The case ended without a conviction. Tennessee publishes this route at no cost to the petitioner.
• Filed with the clerk of the court that heard the case; the district attorney's office usually supplies the packet.
• T.C.A. 40-32-101 was reorganised in 2025 and the Administrative Office of the Courts has not republished its guidance, so the clerk's current version is the one that counts.
